How can I make this work if I changed my iDevice’s default password?
If you changed your device’s default password from “alpine” to something else, you will need edit a few files to make iSutal work for you.

Drill down into the fscommand folder within iSutal. There you will see several .bat files and folders for each of the programs. To change the password, do the following for each program:

- iFunBox – No password required

- iPhoneBrowser – No password required

- Terminal (putty) – Edit the terminal.bat file. You will see ‘alpine’ listed on the second line there. Change that to what your iDevice password is. Save the updated .bat file.

- Tether (putty) – Edit the tether.bat file. You will see ‘alpine’ listed on the second line there. Change that to what your iDevice password is. Save the updated .bat file.

- WinSCP – Go into the WinSCP folder and launch winscp.exe. It will highlight the “iphone” profile by default. Select the “Edit” button on the right and it will bring you to the main login page for WinSCP. Change the password that is pre-filled there for you to your device password. Save and overwrite existing profile.

Am I required to install iTunes for this to work?
Yes and No. At the very least you must have the device drivers/services installed. You can install just the AppleMobileDeviceSupport.msi file which can be extracted from the main iTunes installation file.
